This place where your grandmother resides, is it Assisted Living, or A Geriatric Center, or A Convalescent Center, Etc. Find out exactly what type of facility it is, then, write it down, and take notes! First: Request from this home (if your family never received the paperwork), a COPY of their POLICY. Second: Insist that you want a copy of your grandmother's ***Insident Report.*** Third: Record a conversation with your grandmother, how she ended up breaking her hip. You'll want to ask the W's "Who. What. Where. When, and Why." Who was near or around her, who saw what happened. And I'd add an additional "W" "How" did it happen. Also, you mentioned that there seems to be a lot of falls lately, with residents having *Black Eyes.* It sounds to me there might be from the staff employeed there. With so black eyes and heaven only knows what other type of injuries, I would investigate! Find out the names of these residents who you've noticed, injured. if you can contact their families. Whatever you do make sure you have everything DOCUMENTED. don't only ask how they were injured, but also how often and/or how times. Most homes be it nursing home, assisted living, convalescent centers, geriatric centers, are far under staffed!! Keep a sharp eye on your grandmother when she returns to her place of residents look for bruises on her legs, hands, harms, *back* everywhere!
